Abigail is a born and raised Alabamian and has loved music from a young age. She has had performing experience since the age of 10 when she began playing for weddings, and teaching experience since the age of 15. Abigail attended Samford University and completed her Bachelors in Music Education in 2016. She went on to complete her Masters of Music in Harp Performance at the University of Alabama in 2018. She has studied with symphonic harpist and teacher Judy Sullivan Hicks for over 12 years.
Now based out of Birmingham, AL, Abigail Workman is a classically trained harpist and private studio teacher.
She has performed with symphonies throughout Alabama and the South as both Principal and Second Harpist. These groups include the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, and the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed in a variety of Pops concerts accompanying popular artists including The Texas Tenors, LeAnn Rimes, The Temptations, Robin Thicke, Kirk Franklin, Tremaine Hawkins, Indie Arie, and more.
Abigail has always been involved in worship leadership, and has led both vocally and instrumentally with the harp and the piano in various church services and in a wide range of worship styles. Because of this experience, Abigail is proficient in not only reading music, but reading chord charts, lead sheets, the Nashville Number System, and improvisation.
Abigail is a solo and orchestral harpist, but strives to be a well-rounded musician in all fields, and enjoys being able to work with a variety of groups and within several genres.
